“Where Creativity Blooms”

Jean-Ariel June

  (Pine Cone)

Woody, Spirally, Scaly palms

facing down.

Protecting it seeds

From the harsh reality

That they are too young to face.

Hoping they grow into beautiful

Pine trees.

As they peel loose from it

Like an eighteen-year-old

Moving away,

Its job is over.

As it watches from above

It grows old and withers.

 Until it falls down

And watches from below.

Like a human growing old with gray hair

White spots growing on its

Woody, Spirally, scaly palms
